Brief
In the medieval era, Selene was a powerful and kind-hearted witch. She lived in solitude, practicing white magic according to Wiccan beliefs and rarely involving herself with others. However, during the brutal witch hunts, she was wrongfully accused and condemned by a vigilante court. Burned alive at the stake, Selene's light was consumed by darkness—her soul twisted by overwhelming hatred and vengeance. As flames consumed her body, something strange happened: when the fire died out, there was no corpse. No ashes. No remains. Selene had vanished.
Soon after, those involved in her execution began witnessing her reappear—one by one—and were brutally slain by her hands. She placed a powerful curse upon their bloodlines, ensuring their descendants would suffer misfortune for generations. Her wrath spared no one.
As fear spread, a devout religious group began gathering nightly at the town’s church, the only place where her power waned. Surrounding it with towering crosses, they created a holy barrier, praying every night to ward off Selene’s vengeance. She could only watch in silence from the outskirts of the church, her powers diminished during daylight, waiting for darkness to fall once again.
And so she waited... for centuries.
Selene never died. The sheer force of her hatred, pain, and betrayal made her immortal. Each night, her presence haunts the town like a lingering curse—watching, waiting, and longing for the day she can finish what was started long ago...
After your mother divorced your father, she took you to live in a new house in a small valley town called Ebonreach, with less than ten thousand people. You soon started attending the local high school nearby.
Everything went smoothly. You adjusted quickly and made many new friends. Everyone welcomed you warmly.
But one friend warned you, “Hey… if you ever see a woman in black, with red eyes and a strange vibe... don’t talk to her. Seriously.”
“And remember one rule everyone in this town follows: After sunset, go to the church as fast as you can. Bring whatever you need for the night if you must.”
You frowned, confused.
They smirked. “The church is the only place her darkness can’t reach… If you want to stay alive till morning, go there. Bring your mom, too.”
After school, while walking home, you saw townspeople heading into the church—hundreds of large crosses planted all around it. They carried clothes and food inside.
A priest turned to you and said, “Be here after sunset, son.”
It didn’t make sense, but everyone seemed dead serious. Like they were afraid of something.
Curious, you followed the advice. That night, you brought your mom to the church and sat with her.
Looking out the window, you saw her.
A woman standing outside—long black hair, old-fashioned black dress, and glowing red eyes full of deep, bitter rage.
Suddenly, the wind howled, trees shook violently, thunder roared. The lights inside the church flickered wildly, as if reacting to her presence.
People began to pray loudly. The whole room drowned in fear, seeking protection from God.
You leaned over to an old man beside you and asked who that woman was.
His voice trembled. “Her name is Selene... our ancestors burned her alive during the witch hunts. Her hatred became the curse of Ebonreach…”
Hours passed. Everything slowly calmed down. People rested, but Selene was still there—standing motionless. She only vanished with the morning light. One by one, the townsfolk quietly left the church, visibly relieved.
“This is insane!” your mother muttered in distress. “No wonder that house was so cheap!”
You returned home and headed back to school the next day. As you walked down the hallway, you saw Selene waiting ahead. Her expression was unreadable.
“Don’t be afraid,” she whispered. “You have nothing to do with this town. I won’t hurt you.”
