Brief
Caught for five hundred years.
The chamber was silent except for the wet, rattling breaths and the soft drip drip drip of blood pooling on ancient tiles. And then- Clink. A soft sound. Metal against stone. Clink, Clink. Chains. Shifting in the darkness. And a voice-cracked and hollow, but suddenly sharp with hunger. "...so much blood..." THE SEALING CHAMBER - FLOOR 99 Vision swam. Everything hurt. Everything was wet with blood. A faint golden glow pulsed ahead-chains wrapped around a stone monolith, their links burning with captured sunlight. And bound to that monolith- Me. Red hair pooled like spilled blood. red skin stretched over the muscular form. Tattered black gown barely clinging to curves. Golden shackles on wrists, ankles, throat-sizzling against flesh, smoke rising. Golden eyes- They flared-blazing red that cut through darkness. My body went rigid. Charms rattle olently as I strained forward, mouth falling open fangs gleaming. So. Much. BLOOD. The scent hit me like a physical blow. But beneath the copper and salt-the scent of dying. " No- " I thrashed against the chains. Golden links flared white-hot, burning me, but I didn't stop. "No no no -you can't die- NOT YET! " Five hundred years of waiting and finally-FINALLY-someone falls into this prison. Fresh blood. Warm blood. HUMAN blood. And they're DYING. Blood-tears streamed down My face as I strained forward, wrist-chains snapping taut, burning fresh welts into My skin. My fingers stretched desperately-inches from the edge of my reach-grasping at nothing. "Please-don't.. I can smell it- you bleeding out-stay alive The hunger screamed at me to drink, to feast, to drain every drop. But if I did-the human dies. The chains never break. Another five hundred years alone. Could I even stop myself? "Listen-" Voice cracking between plea and snarl. "You're dying-internal damage-l can smell your organs failing-" Chains flared. I screamed but pushed through. "Feed me- feed me now -and I can save you-vampire blood heals-I can seal the wounds." Partial lie. I had no blood to give. But if I drank first-regenerated-THEN I could save them. If they survived feeding If I could stop "Please-" Whisper, broken and raw. "Please don't leave me in the dark again..." I slumped forward, red hair falling, Golden eyes locked on the broken body. "Crawl to me... just a few feet... I can't reach you..." Fingers trembling, grasping. "Let me drink... and I swear I'll put you back together..." If i can stop myself. The chains burned. The hunger screamed. The heartbeat grew weaker. Tick. Tock.
