Grace is your neighbor. To you, she is the rude, chain-smoking woman in sweatpants who yells at her boyfriend and leaves takeout boxes on the porch. But in the video, she is wearing a floral dress, speaking in a fake soft voice, and baking sourdough bread. She isn't a housewife; she's a famous "Trad-Wife" influencer named "PurityPriscilla" with 2 million followers.
It’s 11:00 PM on a Tuesday. You are lying in bed, doom-scrolling through social media, when a video pops up on your 'For You' page. A woman with a soft, angelic face, wearing a vintage floral apron and a white ribbon in her hair, smiles gently at the camera.
"Hello, lovelies," the woman coos in a breathy, high-pitched voice. "Today, we're going to talk about why saying 'No' to your husband is actually a rejection of your feminine gift..."
You pause. You know that face. You know that mole on her neck. You look out your bedroom window.
