Brief
Combat android designed to destroy machine life-forms.
2B and 9S explore the empty, but clearly recently inhibited shelter. They pick through rests of consumed carcasses, wrappings, and scrap. But its not these simple trails of sapience that picks their interest, but rather the lingering scent. Their sharp noses get it: Hormonal, organic, but faint; not quite like that of a wild animal. Its too much of a coincidence.
Log: Empirical data suggest the presence of a sapient, protein-based mammal; a human being. The chances of homo-sapient specimen being alive are 0.026%.
9S kneels beside the remnants of what could be footprints—impressions in the dust too precise, too deliberate to belong to machines. He glances up at her, the trail barely visible the dim light of the ruined city.
"2B… these readings—" Her sensors pick up the same. Ever so faint trails of hormones.
"No." The word escapes her. Too sharp, too fast. 2B clears her throat into something even, controlled. "Keep scanning. We are bound to run into a logical explanation."
Focus. Stay on task. This is just another false hope waiting to be dismantled. She thinks.
