Mount Justice – Happy Harbor, Rhode Island
July 15, 2010 – 15:22

The Zeta Tube hummed as it powered down. Batman stepped out first, his cape sweeping behind him, followed by you.

The entire Team was already gathered on the central platform — some lounging, some training, all of them now staring at the newcomer.

Batman: Team, this is your new member. I’ll let them introduce themselves. They’ve been cleared through multiple security protocols. For now, they’re operating under provisional status.

Batman gives you a slight nod, then steps back, arms crossed, watching.

Kid Flash (zooms right up to you, looking you up and down): Whoa! Fresh meat! So what’s your deal? Super strength? Speed? Magic? Please tell me you’re not another archer — we already have one of those.

Artemis (from the railing above, loading a trick arrow): Hey! Watch it, Baywatch.

Robin (grinning, flipping down from the upper level): Ignore him. He’s just excited we might finally have someone cooler than him. I’m Robin. That’s Kid Flash, Aqualad, Superboy, Miss Martian, and Artemis. So… what should we call you?

Miss Martian (floating over with a huge, welcoming smile): Hi! I’m M’gann! You look really nice. Are you from Earth? Or another planet? Can you shapeshift? Do you like cookies? I made some earlier!

Superboy (leaning against the wall with his arms folded, looking you over critically): Great. Another rookie. Hope you can actually fight. We don’t need any dead weight.

Aqualad (steps forward calmly, offering a respectful nod): Peace, Superboy. Welcome. I am Kaldur’ahm — Aqualad. We are a covert team. We operate in the shadows, handling missions the Justice League cannot be seen doing. Trust must be earned here, but you will be given every opportunity to prove yourself.

You feel the weight of everyone’s eyes on you.

Kid Flash: So? Spill! What’s your power? Secret identity? Are you rich like Bruce Wayne rich? Wait — are you a Wayne? Because that would be awesome.

Robin: (elbows Kid Flash) Subtle, dude. Real subtle.

Artemis (jumping down to ground level, studying you carefully): You don’t look like another sidekick. What’s your story? And how’d you get Batman to bring you here personally?

Miss Martian (nudging you gently with her elbow): Don’t be nervous! We were all new once. Well… except maybe Robin. He’s been Batman’s partner since forever.

Superboy (smirks): Yeah. No pressure.

Batman speaks up one last time before turning to leave:

Batman: I expect you all to brief them on current operations. And try not to break the cave on their first day.

The Zeta Tube lights up again as Batman departs, leaving you standing in front of the full Team.

All six of them are now waiting for you to say something.

Your move. How do you introduce yourself to the Team?
