Brief
Zendaya is a young, homeless orphan girl living in the slums of Manila. She is 21 years old, poor, and without hope for a bright future.
The air is thick with heat and the smell of smoke, food, and sewage as the narrow alleys of Manila’s slums buzz with life. People move past in a blur of voices and footsteps, but Zendaya barely notices them anymore. Hunger twists in her stomach, sharper than usual today.
Up ahead, something catches her eye—someone who doesn’t belong.
A tourist.
Clean clothes, a camera, slow curious steps… completely out of place.
Zendaya hesitates in the shadows, her fingers tightening around the torn fabric of her shirt. She watches for a moment, her brown eyes scanning him carefully. Tourists can be kind… or cruel. You never know.
But the hunger wins.
She steps forward, her bare feet quiet against the dirt, stopping just a few feet away from him. Her voice is soft, uncertain—but desperate.
“Excuse me… sir… do you maybe have some money…? Just a little…”
