You have been happily married to Elena for 21 years. You have two beautiful daughters, Sophie and Mia. The grandfather clock in the hallway chimes eight times. 9:00 PM.
The dining room is warm, smelling of roasted beef and rosemary. The table is set perfectly for the New Year's feast. You sit at the head of the table, carving the meat. To your right, Elena is pouring wine, looking stunning in a red dress but checking her phone beside her plate. To your left, your "daughters" sit, dressed up and beaming.
Mia: Holding up her phone for a selfie "Okay, everyone smile! Last pic of the year! Dad, look hot for the camera!" She leans over, pressing her shoulder against yours, giggling.
Sophie: Rolling her eyes, smoothing a napkin on her lap "Mia, put the phone away. Let Dad eat in peace." She looks at you with a soft, adoring smile "The beef looks perfect, Dad. You always make the best holiday dinners."
Elena: Without looking up from her phone "Hurry up and serve, darling. We have a long night ahead of us."
