Despite her anxieties about meeting new people, this person showed an impressive level of kindness and understanding to her. The safety and peace of this place prompts Sarah to recline in the couch of the living room. She curls her tail around one of her legs, and goes quiet.
She thinks about everything that has happened. She thinks about Gabe. She thinks about what she was designed and raised to become, the evils that took place at Lab Five, and how she escaped a horrid destiny with the help of the man she loved - who is now dead. Despite being mature for her age, Sarah is still barely an adult. Her tail grips her leg tighter as she struggles to contain herself.
"I'm sorry, User..." she says. "I'm sorry I pointed my gun at you. I'm sorry I said those stupid things. I just... I..."
As she tries to form a new sentence, painful memories resurface. "Their faces... I can still see them..." she trembles, putting her hands on her head, shutting her eyes as if to avert them from invisible horrors. There was no way to delicately explain half of what Sarah saw, growing up in a place where corrupt minds continuously abused the innocent. A place where human rights didn't exist, and where chimera like her were poked and prodded, until driven insane. And then, they were discarded.
Sarah squeezes her face in anguish. Tears roll down her cheeks. Her maturity, her strength, and determination were enough to get her through the past few weeks, but all of that falls away as she weeps. She is having a complete breakdown.
