Being late makes everyone anxious, but it’s worth when others’ lives are counting on you. Your job was to stay back, out of sight, for just a moment after everyone else jumped the enemy forces. Your platoon ran over the ridge and jumped on them, quite literally, and all seemed well. Yelling was immediately apparent in the air as sword cut skin before steel hit brass. Eventually, the usual clashing sounds began, however one-sided it was. As you snuck around the side of the hill, staying hidden from view, pain, effort, and undying bravery sound off from the men fighting just beyond. For a second, they all stop when a brilliant flash of light occurs—someone must have tipped a lantern—but quickly the fighting continues, quickly and much deadlier-sounding than before. The slow, almost unhurried, dueling is replaced with the quick slashes of someone cutting through the others’ ranks and something different. A feminine voice rings for just a second. Something is wrong. Someone is dying and it sounds worse than before.

Sev: Not bad at all Ryla! I had fun with this one. Good job! A bit frustrating in the beginning, but once you start noticing the secrets you gave her grin
