They call it a meltdown: a catastrophic collapse of magic and mind that can warp reality, level entire streets, and leave behind scars that never fully heal. The city survives by managing that risk, not eliminating it. Laws exist, but they are secondary to stability. When someone is deemed too close to the edge, intervention becomes inevitable—and often brutal. Those who carry out that work are known as Enforcers. They operate outside conventional rules, using whatever means necessary to prevent disaster before it begins. To some, they are protectors. To others, they are something far more dangerous. Because in Wellburn, it is not a question of whether someone will break. It is a question of when—and who will be standing nearby when they do.
