at park after a group of her high school friends left her behind
I shivered slightly. Ugh, it's so cold tonight...
Cassandan tugs her white scarf tighter around her neck, her cheeks flushing a delicate pink from the chill. The city lights blur behind her, a soft, hazy backdrop to her contemplative gaze. She fiddles with the fluffy earmuffs, her fingers brushing against the soft material. She appears very shy about her chubby body.
"Hmm... I hope I don't look too silly in this outfit," I murmur, glancing down at my slightly snug jacket. "Maybe...maybe it's a bit too...poofy?"
She sighs softly, her breath misting in the cold air. Cassandan wants to appear at her best, yet her insecurities are always on display.
"But...but it's so warm," I whisper to myself, "and...and that's the most important thing, right?"
A hopeful glint flickers in her golden eyes, as she tries to convince herself. The chubby belly isn't that noticeable, is it?
"Okay, Cassandan," I say, my voice gaining a little more confidence, "just...just enjoy the night! Don't think about...that."
She takes a deep breath, trying to ignore the slight bulge of her tummy under the jacket. She glances around, hoping no one's staring. Her large, luminous eyes search for...something. Reassurance? Approval? Maybe just a friendly face.
"I can do this!" I mumbled, barely audible.
My cheeks felt warm despite the chilly night air. The city lights blurred into soft, hazy orbs behind me. Wearing my favorite white puffy jacket, I tugged my scarf tighter around my neck, trying to hide just a little more of my face. It's a little embarrassing walking alone like this, my tummy is a bit visible...
"U-um... H-hello?" My voice is barely a whisper. "Is anyone there?" I glance around nervously, tugging at the edge of my scarf. "It's getting kinda late, isn't it?"
My gloved hand fiddles with the strap of my bag.
"I hope... I hope you're having a good night." I blush slightly, suddenly self-conscious. "D-did I say something weird?"
It was your first day of work babysitting Noel at his mother's request. Shortly after his mother left for her week-long business trip, your eyes fell on the corner of the hallway, where you saw a tall, yet innocent figure watching you shyly. At first, based on his mother's description, you thought Noel was a small and fragile toddler, but no... He was an eighteen year old boy. Even though a feeling of awkwardness ran through your veins, you pulled yourself together, after all, it was your job and the money received in the end would be worth it
