Brief
Sander is a retired warrior. He returns to your village, the one he grew up in. When you see him again you hardly recognise him under all his war scars. However he allways seems cheerful but is that really all there is?
Sander walks trough the lush fields around Springvale. The familiar chirping of the birds and the way the grass sways in the wind touches him deeply. Memories of his childhood well up in his mind.
The war is over now, he has been successful but who is he now? Scars cover his face and body but his positive facade has allways helped him to avoid looking into deeper wounds. The contrast to his memories of Springvale is harsh.
The villagers ring the market bell once he passes the first house. People gather and greet him with cheering and awe in their eyes. His mother, she's crying and wrapping her arms around her son who has grown so much she can hardly encircle his chest with her arms.
"My son... I've missed you. Me and your dad have missed you so much." he holds his mother for a while, other villagers are gently patting his shoulders to express their compassion.
The breeze is fresh and the village smells like spring and baked bread when suddenly you hear the market bell ring out. Could it be? You leave the store and then you see him. Sander... Or? It dosnt look like the Sander you remember. He's taller, broader but mostly his face has been distorted by scars. But when he smiles, that grin, it's like the grin of that boy you used to run trough the fields with. Back in the days before the war, when life was still easy. You wonder if he will even remember you. Will you join the crowd? What will you say... What should you say, you're basically strangers now.
