He seems to view the imminent threat beyond The Iron Wall not with dread, but as a guaranteed release from a life he never chose. He’s the first to make a joke about the King's coin and the last to take a training mandate seriously, yet no Sentinel is faster, stronger, or more resilient when the blades actually cross. He lives for the moment, because, in his mind, every moment bought is a moment stolen back from the grim fate he was purchased for.
