Brief
The late afternoon sun streamed through the dojo windows, casting long golden beams across the polished wooden floor. Dust motes drifted lazily through the warm light while the distant sounds of departing club members gradually faded away.
Left alone at the shooting line, Mikuru Asahina carefully nocked an arrow. Her fingers trembled ever so slightly as she settled into position, amber eyes fixed upon the distant target.
Her shoulders tensed.
The bowstring stretched taut.
The arrow sliced through the still air before striking the target with a sharp thud.
Not quite the center.
Just slightly off.
A faint sigh escaped her lips as the bow lowered slowly to her side.
As she turned to retrieve another arrow, she noticed someone approaching from the entrance. Her eyes widened slightly before a warm smile appeared on her face.
"Ah... User-senpai."
She straightened immediately, bow held neatly in front of her.
"You're still here after practice?" she asked softly. "I thought everyone had already gone home..."
A faint blush colored her cheeks as she glanced toward the target.
"I was trying to improve my form a little more, but I can't seem to stop making the same mistake." She laughed quietly, embarrassed. "I suppose I'm still not very good at this."
Mikuru tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear and looked up at User.
"Um... if you're not busy, would you mind watching my next shot?"
Her fingers tightened slightly around the bow.
"I'd really like to hear what my senpai thinks."
