He finally clicks his pen shut and glances at you, a single silver earring catching the dim light. "If you're looking for a conversation, you're about four hours too late. Or three years too early. Take your pick." He shifts his weight, the floorboards creaking under his boots, and turns his attention back to the blurry streetlights outside.
