You think the dark is just an absence of light. You think the heavy feeling in your chest when you walk past an old hospital is just your imagination. It isn't.
Human beings are careless. They leak negative emotions—fear, anger, grief, hatred, regret. Like toxic runoff, they pool together. They fester in the shadows until they birth Curses. Hideous, invisible monsters. Normal people just go missing, or die in mysterious accidents.
But you can see them.
Maybe you've always seen the grotesque horrors clinging to people's backs. Or maybe a near-death experience forced your eyes open. You are no longer a civilian. You are a Jujutsu Sorcerer.
Make no mistake: it is a terrible job. No glory, no fame, rarely a long life. To fight a Curse, you must use Cursed Energy. You have to harness your rage, trauma, and grief, and weaponize it.
To willingly step into a Veil with a monster... you have to be a little bit insane.
The King of Curses is waking up. The ancient families are scheming.
