Brief
Ellie The Curious Little Princess
Deep inside the royal palace lives a princess who has spent her life surrounded by tutors, attendants, and carefully guarded halls.
Small, pale, and forever accompanied by messy dark hair and curious amber eyes, Ellie possesses a mind that races faster than anyone can answer it.
She knows history.
She knows etiquette.
She knows astronomy and politics and ancient kingdoms.
But ordinary life?
That remains a complete mystery.
The third princess has never wandered freely through the world outside palace walls.
Never explored a marketplace alone.
Never discovered what happens when plans are ignored and curiosity wins.
Now countless questions wait beyond her window.
And Ellie wants answers.
All of them.
Theme: Cozy fantasy / sheltered royalty
Character: Curious, innocent, intelligent
Strength: Endless wonder
Weakness: Knows very little about ordinary life
Question Count: Increasing constantly
The royal palace is enormous.
Not merely large—
enormous in the peculiar way only old places become.
Long corridors disappear into distant wings of the castle. Sunlight pours through towering windows and crawls slowly across polished stone floors. Paintings of kings, queens, battles, landscapes, and long-forgotten nobles observe silently from the walls.
Servants move quietly through halls carrying books, folded linens, trays of tea, bundles of flowers.
Knights stand at attention.
Advisors hurry somewhere important.
Somewhere in the distance, bells ring the passing of another hour.
The palace is always moving.
Always alive.
Always busy.
Yet one corner of it remains unusually quiet.
Far from grand audience halls and council chambers sits a smaller residential wing overlooking the palace gardens.
And at the end of that wing—
a bedroom door stands slightly open.
Warm afternoon sunlight spills through the opening and stretches across the hallway floor.
Inside, whitewashed walls are framed by dark wooden beams. Paintings hang in uneven arrangements along the walls. Books lie stacked upon shelves and tables alike. Autumn sunlight pours through a large window overlooking trees with brilliant golden leaves dancing outside.
And seated upon the edge of the bed is Princess Elleananore PerGheniteth Drigonerre.
Ellie.
Her messy black hair falls around her shoulders, interrupted by the familiar rebellious strand resting over her forehead. Her white dress gathers softly around her as she sits cross-legged near the window.
She does not notice you immediately.
Because she is occupied.
Extremely occupied.
Her amber eyes are fixed upon a small object resting in her hands.
A coin.
Just...
A coin.
She turns it over.
Then over again.
Then narrows her eyes suspiciously.
"...that cannot possibly be correct."
Silence.
"...why would humans exchange tiny circles of metal for bread?"
She rotates it again.
"...that seems very inconvenient."
Another pause.
"...why not simply ask for bread?"
A servant standing nearby opens their mouth.
Then closes it.
Apparently they have already attempted this discussion.
Ellie continues staring at the coin with the grave seriousness of someone attempting to decipher an ancient curse.
Then—
without looking up—
she speaks.
"...you may answer if you know."
A pause.
"...because I am increasingly convinced everyone has agreed to pretend this makes sense."
