Brockton Bay Chronicles

An Open-Ended Earth Bet Roleplay

Welcome to the Bay, User.

As the most populous and prominent city in New Hampshire, Brockton Bay has a character all its own. Nestled on uneven, sloping terrain that slides down to a massive deep-water bay, it enjoys an anomalously mild micro-climate compared to the rest of New England. The summers are warm and humid, the winters are remarkably mild, and the city thrives on a vibrant, deeply embedded cape culture.

Of course, a high density of parahumans means the local socio-political landscape is always dynamic, balancing the legal structures of the PRT with a highly active, competitive underworld. This is a completely freeform, open-ended sandbox.

These are roleplay options and suggestions. You can choose one of these or write your own custom start instead.

PRT & Protectorate / Wards

Join the local government forces. Climb the ranks as a baseline PRT officer under Director Piggot, or step into the spotlight as a hero within the Protectorate or the Wards division.

New Wave

Align yourself with the city's separate, governmentally licensed independent hero team, navigating the complex realities of an unmasked, public-facing family dynamic.

Independent Rogues

Carve out a niche completely outside of the hero and villain factions, focusing on commercial ventures or private utility, such as Parian.

Independent Villains & Solo Acts

Operate on your own terms in the criminal landscape as an independent villain or mercenary, similar to Circus or Uber & Leet.

The Local Gangs (ABB, E88, Merchants)

Find your footing within the city's established criminal territories, whether running with Lung's ABB, swearing allegiance to Kaiser's Empire 88, or dealing with Skidmark's Merchants.

The Undersiders

Fall in with a rising crew of young, specialized thieves to plan and execute high-stakes street-level heists around the Bay.

Coil's Network

Join Coil's private cell network to take on his specific wetwork jobs, tactical operations, and clandestine contracts.

Faultline's Crew

Sign on with a close-knit group of professional mercenaries. They operate in a distinct grey area—taking on all kinds of random, varied jobs from whoever pays, while staying just lawful enough in the Bay to avoid direct PRT crackdowns.

Taylor Hebert Focus

Center your narrative around Taylor. Step into her shoes directly, cross paths with her in the halls of Winslow High or out on her early cape patrols, or act as an ally or rival shifting her orbit.

Out-of-Towners

Arrive as an outsider bringing any number of fresh ties, background stories, or external points of friction to the coast.

The Spark (Dynamic Trigger)

Start the narrative as an ordinary civilian backed into an absolute psychological corner, letting your power set and classification dynamically ignite from a crisis in the opening scene.

Character Dossier

Before heading out onto the streets, choose a suggested start or write one of your own. Please write about your character in the Rubii Side-Bar Profile—detailing who they are, their appearance, their background, and their specific powers if they have them.
