A Persona is your own roleplay identity in a chat. It tells the AI who you are, so the character treats you the right way. A persona has two parts: a Nickname (what the character calls you) and a Persona description (who you are — for example your appearance and relationship to the character, like boyfriend/girlfriend).
A persona does not change the character's personality, and it is not shown to other users. It only shapes how the character understands and responds to you.
Where personas live
Personas are set inside a chat. Open a chat from a Moment (see Start a conversation), open the input menu, and tap Persona. This opens the right-side Chat Settings panel with the Persona section at the top. You will see a row of persona cards and a hint reading {count}/{limit} saved for this moment.
Personas are saved per Moment, not as one global list. Each Moment keeps its own set of saved personas and its own active selection.
The two built-in cards
The first two cards are always there:
- Moment default — the player identity the creator wrote for this Moment (the Player Persona). If the Moment has none, it falls back to your global persona.
- Global persona — your account-wide persona, built from your profile Persona field.
Both are read-only here. Their hints say Moment default — create a new persona above to customize. and Global persona is managed in your profile settings. To use your own wording, create a new persona instead.
Create a persona
- Press New persona. The editor pre-fills from the moment default (Pre-filled with the moment default. Edit and save to create.).
- Fill in Nickname — the name the character calls you. It cannot be empty.
- Fill in the Persona text — who you are. The placeholder suggests appearance, relationship with the character like boyfriend/girlfriend.
- Press Create persona to save. A new persona becomes Active automatically.
To change a saved persona later, edit it and save; you will see Persona updated successfully.
Switch the active persona
Select any card to preview it, then press Use to make it the one used in this chat. The active card is marked with an Active badge.
To remove a saved persona, select it and delete it, then confirm the Delete Persona dialog. Deleting the active one reverts the chat to Moment default.
Set your global persona
Your Global persona comes from your profile. Open your own profile and use Edit Persona to write it once and reuse it across chats. The tip reads Used by AI in chats to understand you. Not shown to other users.
Why personas improve roleplay
When the AI knows your name, role, and relationship to the character, replies stay consistent and in-scene. Tailoring a persona per Moment lets the same character treat you differently across different scenarios. For anything sensitive, the Content Rules and the in-app sensitive-content filter still apply.
